The Path to the Lodge Wall Art

$80.00

A rough track, scattered with fallen leaves and small puddles, curves between two mossy dry-stone walls toward the lodge. Golden birches lean over the way on the left, the gray house with its tall chimneys sits on a green lawn ahead, and the little boathouse with its green door waits by the water. Mist drifts across the pine-covered hill behind.

Details

With its sense of arrival, it is well suited to an entryway or the long wall beside a staircase, and it is equally at home in a living room. It is part of the Highland Stillness collection, nine paintings that circle one Scottish loch and its lodge, and it hangs as a trio with The Old Boathouse and The Highland Burn.

About the collection

Highland Stillness

On the shore of a Scottish loch, a gray stone lodge sits among birch and pine, with its boathouse just below and the hills rising behind. Early on an autumn morning the mist lifts slowly off the slopes, the water lies almost still, and the heather turns the banks a soft mauve. These paintings follow that hour from the jetty, the burn, the path and the lodge window.

The Path to the Lodge. A leaf-strewn track curves between mossy dry-stone walls toward the gray stone lodge, its boathouse and a misty wooded hill.

Such a good spot for it

The big canal view looks lovely above our bench. I like the black frame with the bench legs. That patch of blue water really stands out when you walk in.

Looks lovely in the evening

This is my favorite corner now. The warm colors and gold frame look especially nice with the little picture light on. It's got that quiet, old house feel I was hoping for.

Fits our room so well

Love the autumn colors against the brick. The wood frame was an easy choice for this room.

Finally something for the stair wall

We have a big awkward wall by the stairs and I never knew what to put there. The tall landscape works really well. The black frame also makes sense with the railing, which I hadn't thought about until it was up.

So glad we picked two

These two look really nice together over the sofa. The colors go with our blue cushions without everything being exactly the same shade. My favorite is the one with the rocky shore.

A little garden view in the kitchen

Didn't think a picture would make much difference in here, but it does. The greens work so well with all our wood and baskets. It makes me want to sit on that bench with a coffee.

The black frame was the right choice

I kept going back and forth on the frame. Went with black because of our dining chairs and lights and I'm glad I did. The soft pink flowers are my favorite part.

Lovely scene

Really like the lake and mountains. I probably could have gone a size bigger for this wall, but that's on me. Still happy with how it looks next to the chair.

Love it above the fireplace

The little garden scene is lovely. I like how the gold frame picks up the other bits on our mantel.

Just right for this little corner

Our breakfast corner needed something on that blank wall. This has enough color to make it feel finished without taking over. Glad I went with the wood frame.

Soft colors that suit the room

Our living room is mostly beige and wood, so I didn't want anything too bright. This cottage scene adds some color but still feels quiet. I keep noticing the little house in the distance.

The three together look great

We chose the three landscapes with the same wood frames. They fill the space over our sofa nicely without looking crowded. I was worried three might be too much, but they feel like they belong together.

Love the autumn trees

The warm brown tones look great over our sideboard. I especially like that the path draws your eye into the picture.

A garden view by the dining table

The orchard, meadow and open window make such a nice group. The natural wood frames go with our table and chairs. I love looking across at them while we're having breakfast.

A calm picture for the bedroom

I wanted something I wouldn't get tired of seeing every morning. The mountains and cloudy sky are perfect for that. It works with our light bedding and doesn't need anything else around it.

Exactly the sort of picture I wanted

A peaceful country scene that doesn't make the room feel busy. It looks lovely from the other end of our living room too.

Made the bedroom feel finished

The blue wall was already there, but I couldn't find anything I liked above the bed. This little harbor view fits right in. The gold around it is a nice bit of warmth.

Nice with the blue bedding

The harbor scene is really pretty and the wood frame goes with our headboard. Looking at it now, I might have chosen a bigger size for the space above the bed. I do like the picture itself a lot.

Really ties the room together

We have warm lights and a lot of cream and brown in the sitting room. The canal picture brings in just enough blue. I love the shape of that little bridge.

Hard to stop looking at it

There are so many little things to notice in the greenhouse scene. The flowers, the glass roof, the doorway at the back. I've only leaned it up for now and already love it there.

Pretty addition to my reading corner

I really like the pink flowers in this one. With the gold frame it feels a little more formal than I first pictured, but it looks good over the chair with my red throw.

Looking forward to getting these up

They're still leaning against the wall in my office while I decide on the spacing. Love the soft hills and water across the three pictures. The misty one is my favorite so far.

A pretty set over the sofa

Really like the river scenes and the matching gold frames. We left them fairly close together because the wall isn't huge. I'd measure the whole group before choosing a size, but we're happy with ours.

Already love them

Haven't hung these yet, they're still sitting against the wall with the corner covers on. The three greenhouse pictures look lovely together and the wood frames fit the feel of the room. Now to decide exactly where they go.
